So, I have been doing amazing things for myself. Here is a clue.

I have rediscovered my love of making Artist Trading Cards. Here are a few unfinished ones. I will be coloring, painting and embellishing them in the upcoming days.

I want to take a moment to show you all the amazing talent of Gaby Ruiz, the artist behind Serpenthes. She is not only one of my oldest and dearest friends, but just an extraordinary human being and constant source of inspiration.

Her work leaves my mind swimming with possibilities, stories and adventure..yet no concrete words to describe it. In her own words, regarding her style: “….it’s like you traveled back in time and somewhere along the way you screwed up and killed an ant or saved a person and so now everything in time and universe is just a little off.”

I’ve been obsessed with the Octopus as long as I can remember. Maybe it’s their blue blood. Or their three hearts. There is just something regal and mysterious about them that intrigues me. Tragically short life spans? No internal skeleton? Genetically programed death? I’m in love.

This particular piece was inspired by Miss Gaby of Serpenthes.
